My entry into professional life
After graduating from university, I was faced with the big question: Where should I go next? My previous experience as a working student in HR was valuable, but I wanted to broaden my professional horizons. marenas gave me the opportunity to enter the field of IT consulting – an area that was new to me and offered exciting prospects.
From day one, I was seen as a full member of the team. At marenas, it’s not just your CV and previous experience that count, but above all your potential and willingness to learn. For me as a career starter, it was exactly the right start: initially, I took on clearly defined tasks, but was quickly able to take on more responsibility. With every challenge I mastered, my self-confidence grew – as did my enjoyment of tackling more complex issues.
The buddy and mentoring programme was a great help to me. My buddy supported me in all everyday and project-related matters during the first six months – from understanding customer projects to very mundane questions such as: ‘How do I actually operate the portafilter machine in the office?’ At the same time, I had a mentor from another project with whom I could regularly discuss my personal development, possible training courses or certifications, and my long-term prospects within the company. This combination of professional support and personal sparring made my start much easier.
The onboarding process made my start noticeably easier: whether through discussions with other consultants from the project, detailed documentation or the opportunity to accompany colleagues to customer meetings – even if I could only listen at first, it helped me enormously to understand the project ecosystem and find my own role step by step. So I never felt left alone.
To this day, I particularly appreciate the sense of community. Regular workshops, team events and open communication ensure that we learn from each other and find solutions together. Problems are not borne alone here – just as successes are not celebrated alone.
Starting out in your career can often be uncertain. For me, marenas was a place where I could develop in a supportive but challenging environment. The mix of trust, guidance and growing challenges makes my journey here exciting – and I am curious to see what steps will follow.
