We are aware that our standard of living is not something to be taken for granted.

That is why we are committed to providing important impetus in areas that go beyond our daily consulting business and to actively assuming social responsibility. Our commitment does not end at the company’s boundaries, because we take our social responsibility towards society seriously.

That is why we have launched the ‘share’ project.

think and act – global and local

In line with this principle, we want to use ‘share’ to support projects that promote education and development, both internationally and regionally. Our goal is to help people help themselves, thereby creating tangible and sustainable added value. This only works because we maintain long-term, personal relationships with our partners, which gives us transparency about current challenges and needs.

Our financial donations are taken from our current operating results. This means that every single team member contributes to the donation amounts through their work. In addition, our team is also involved in our ‘share’ projects in a variety of ways on site. From integrating refugees with voluntary tutoring to renovating youth centres and supporting inclusion tournaments.

We have already been able to support the following projects:

Educational projects in Tanzania

We have been promoting sustainable education in Tanzania since 2017. In the schools and kindergartens we support, children not only receive a basic school education, but also a warm lunch and a safe haven. We take particular care to only hire local craftsmen and to train Tanzanian teachers. Through mutual visits and regular exchanges, we establish and maintain personal relationships with the recipients of our donations.

We have also supported other initiatives in Tanzania:

  • Financing of a training place: Enabled a prospective nursery school teacher to complete a two-year training course based on the Montessori concept.
  • Co-financing of a boarding school in Chamazi: This boarding school not only offers children and young people a safe haven, but also the opportunity to focus on their education, experience community and enjoy a carefree childhood.
  • Equipping a bakery in Luagala: The aim is to promote self-sufficiency and create jobs and income opportunities for the local population.
  • Co-financing of a school bus: Enables pupils to travel to school safely and significantly improves access to education.
  • Provision of scholarships for pupils from particularly poor families and orphans: so that disadvantaged children also have the opportunity to receive a good school education.

Since 2019, we have been actively supporting Dr Beatrix Jakubicka’s commitment to refugee children and young people in Munich. Our goal is not only to open up educational opportunities for them, but also to enable them to have long-term prospects:

  • Volunteer tutoring & everyday support: We provide regular tutoring, help with job applications and advise on possible career paths – for a better future and successful integration.
  • Promoting digital education: We donate laptops, mobile phones and printers so that children and young people have access to digital learning materials and can do their homework.
  • Cultural and social participation: In March 2023, we sponsored a charity event at Munich’s Freiheitshalle for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. In addition to collecting donations for urgently needed relief efforts, the event also provided a platform for refugee young people to exchange ideas and network.
One Earth – One Ocean

The sea plays a visibly important role in marenas’ corporate identity. In 2021, we therefore decided to support the Munich-based organisation One Earth – One Ocean. oeoo describes itself as a ‘maritime waste collection service’ and has developed a concept for the collection and sustainable recycling of marine waste that not only ensures clean oceans, but also protects and preserves the fragile ecosystem. Through financial contributions and networking with our network, we were able to make a sustainable contribution.

Inclusion team in Munich

On 13 July 2019, the first marenas Cup of Inclusion, a charity tournament organised by TSV Hohenbrunn, took place. In two competitions, six diverse football teams tried to get the ball into the back of the net. All proceeds were donated to the Sternstunden foundation. In addition to this event, our donation also helped to finance the training camp and part of the team’s equipment.

Youth centre in Munich

Jugendhaus München e.V. is an educational residential group for young people experiencing difficulties in their family, school or professional lives. In addition to monetary and material donations, it is important to us to establish personal contact with the young people through project days. In the summer of 2019, we were on site to repaint the fence of this special residential community and maintain the garden and terrace for the young residents.

Our commitment stands for sustainable responsibility. With ‘share’, we want to bring about long-term change – with heart, personal commitment and a clear vision for the future.
